The light is getting brighter
No exact date yet but we heard from the facilitator today. She said, "Be ready to come to Serbia soon." I told her we do not need much notice. Just a few days to book a flight and get a place to stay there. She received permission to complete all five of the pending adoptions in the next two months!! Amazing!! So, we are hoping we overlap with the other families so we can meet them. So far we are only "internet friends." All 5 families are adopting from www.reecesrainbow.com. These will be the first adoptions of children with Down syndrome from Serbia. VERY EXCITING!!! Please pray that all families will be financially ready to go soon. It is difficult to think you have 6 months to get all the money and then find out you need it in a month. Anyway, now I have to not go crazy thinking about it over the weekend. I may even start packing!!! =-)

Survival of Spring Break
Well, Spring Break is about over. After 1 movie, countless trips to the park, several works of art via sidewalk chalk, inning after inning of backyard t-ball, 1 trip to the zoo, 100 playroom picnics with plastic food, and way too much Elmo and Mickey Mouse (for mom), we are ready for Monday and SCHOOL!!! (OK, I am ready for Monday and school.) We had a great time, don't get me wrong. But the energy level of the kids is much higher than mine! How is that fair? I don't know.
I really thought I would hear our travel date by now. But, I am confident we will be traveling in April. I just hate the weekends because I know I won't get any news. Yes, my current life revolves around going to Serbia. You know, it is hard to plan anything not knowing when we will be gone. I can't volunteer to be class mom or for church activities too far in advance. I did buy concert tickets at Christmas time for my husband and I to see Paul Potts next week. I was thinking, we will be back from Serbia in plenty of time to go to this. Funny. But we get to go which is cool. For those of you who don't know Paul Potts, he was the winner of "Britain's Got Talent." He was just an average guy who worked in a cell phone store and came on the show and sang opera. He is phenomenal!!
Happy Easter to everyone! Easter is always special for me. I found out on Easter in 1998, that I was pregnant with our first child, Braxton. I feel so grateful at this time of year for our Savior, Jesus Christ and his atonement and resurrection. I know that it is only through Him that I can be with my son again not only in spirit but with flesh and bones. I will get to HUG my son again. That is a day that can't come soon enough. May you all have a wonderful Easter with family and friends!

Is that a light?
We got great news today from the facilitator! She said it looks like we will be traveling the end of this month or beginning of next month. YEAH!!! There's a light at the end of the tunnel. I am SO happy! She asked when it would be convenient for us to travel and of course I said we would go as soon as she could arrange it! Thanks to all of the prayers offered on our behalf. Keep them coming so we can bring our boy home soon!!

Glasses for everyone!
My little Tyler got glasses today! He is 4 years old now. He looks so much more grown up with them. Tia, my 6 year old got glasses in November. We have known since birth that our kids had no shot at perfect eyesight as both my hubby and I had glasses by 3rd grade. Oh well. He is not crazy about keeping them on so we will introduce them little by little. As long as he doesn't break them, I'll be happy.
