Sad, Sad News

What a devastating day. Here is the latest in Serbia. http://www.time.com/time/world/article/0,8599,1715206,00.html
A huge group of protesters met in Belgrade today (about half a million of them) and a group broke off and set the U.S. Embassy on fire!!!! Needless to say, this is not what we wanted to hear. This may completely change everything. Regardless of how the adoption program is working, it is not safe to travel there at this time. We don't know if they will close the adoptions for a while or not. Right now, our plan is to keep all our paperwork there and just wait it out. I feel so strongly that Max is our son. I am so heartbroken. I have been crying all day. I do not want to think about him staying in the orphanage another minute, let alone another 6 months or years or whatever! I can already tell I won't be sleeping much tonight. I am just so incredibly sad. I hope when we do finally get him, this will seem like the blink of an eye. Oh, how I love him and want him to come home.

OMGosh, that is horrible. My prayers out to you, your family and your future son. Prayers for peace also.

I'm thinking of you Shawnie. It is obvious how you love Max. I can't imagine how it must feel to wonder if he will ever be yours or not. Let's keep praying!

I think of you guys whenever I hear any news of Serbia. Keep us posted, and we pray things work out for you and Max despite the politics.

So sorry to hear that you will have to wait even longer. I can empathize. We have the reverse situation yet still wishing the girls were here safe with us. It is hard under the circumstances but just remember this too is happening for a reason.
